DESCRIPTION:Retro Computing Day Event – Register Now! \nDate: Saturday\, January 17th\, 2025 Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBring Your Hardware. Bring Your Ideas.\nThis is a relaxed\, hands-on day for anyone actively enjoying retro computing — whether you’re repairing old machines\, experimenting with code\, upgrading hardware\, or simply proud of a setup you want to share. \nImportant Registration Note\nPayment for your participation of this retro event is now done as individuals at the Falkirk Business Hub reception on the event day. You register here on this website as to your intent of coming\, but pay on the day at reception. The normal price is £10 (+VAT) per 4 hours of a desk rental in the co-working space (the space that is normally used for I.T. Crowd gatherings)\, but you will have a 10% discount on this. So you may pay for the whole day (09:00am to 17:00pm) or for a four hour block (I recommend the former). \nWhat to Expect\n\n\nHardware Show & TellBring along your classic machines and peripherals to display\, discuss\, and compare with other enthusiasts. \n\n\nProjects in ProgressSoftware experiments\, hardware mods\, music tools\, restorations — finished or unfinished\, all are welcome. \n\n\nCollaborative TinkeringTeam up with others to explore ideas\, troubleshoot issues\, or dive into shared coding or hardware challenges. \n\n\nShared Knowledge & ExperienceSwap tips\, discoveries\, and hard-earned lessons with people who genuinely enjoy this era of computing. \n\n\nRepair & Upgrade AdviceInformal help and guidance on diagnosing problems or improving performance. \n\n\nRefreshments IncludedTea\, coffee\, and biscuits will be available throughout the day\, with lunch options at the on-site Finnegans Café. \n\n\nEveryone Welcome\nThis is an open\, platform-agnostic event. While Acorn systems are very much at home here\, we warmly welcome enthusiasts of Sinclair\, Atari\, Commodore\, Amstrad\, Apple\, and other classic machines. Full lift access and disabled facilities are available.
