Bring Your Ideas.\nThis is a relaxed\, hands-on day for anyone actively enjoying retro computing — whether you’re repairing old machines\,\nexperimenting with code\, upgrading hardware\, or simply proud of a setup you want to share. \nTheme (Proposed): Econet\nThe suggested theme for this meet-up is Econet — Acorn’s classic networking system.\nIf you’ve got Econet hardware\, software\, cables\, terminators\, fileservers\, or memories of running it back in the day\,\nbring them along. Even if you’re just curious\, it’s a great excuse to learn from others. \nImportant Registration Note\nPayment for your participation in this event is done individually at the Falkirk Business Hub reception\non the event day\n.\nPlease register here on this website to let us know you’re planning to attend\, then pay on the day at reception.\nThe normal price is £10 (+VAT) per 4 hours of desk rental in the co-working space (the space we usually use for I.T. Crowd gatherings)\,\nbut attendees will receive a 10% discount. You can pay for the full day (09:00 to 17:00) or for a four-hour block\n(I recommend the former). \nWhat to Expect\n\nHardware Show & Tell\nBring along your classic machines and peripherals to display\, discuss\, and compare with other enthusiasts.\nEconet Demos & Discussion\nIf there’s interest\, we’ll set aside time for informal Econet show-and-tell: setups\, gotchas\, troubleshooting\, and ideas.\nProjects in Progress\nSoftware experiments\, hardware mods\, music tools\, restorations — finished or unfinished\, all are welcome.\nCollaborative Tinkering\nTeam up with others to explore ideas\, troubleshoot issues\, or dive into shared coding or hardware challenges.\nShared Knowledge & Experience\nSwap tips\, discoveries\, and hard-earned lessons with people who genuinely enjoy this era of computing.\nRepair & Upgrade Advice\nInformal help and guidance on diagnosing problems or improving performance.\nRefreshments Included\nTea\, coffee\, and biscuits will be available throughout the day\, with lunch options at the on-site\nFinnegans Café.\n\nEveryone Welcome\nThis is an open\, platform-agnostic event.
