This event is aimed at bringing together a community of like-minded individuals in a comfortable and modern setting \u2013 the <a href=\"https:\/\/falkirkbusinesshub.co.uk\/\">Falkirk Business Hub,<\/a> in central Falkirk, Scotland.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"text-strong\">Thursday 27th June 2024 7:00PM running until 10:00PM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udd79 <strong class=\"text-strong\">Event Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an informal gathering for&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; Show and Tell: Bring your own hardware to display and discuss with others.<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Collaborative Working: Spend time on hardware, programming, or gaming projects.<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Knowledge Exchange: Share ideas, insights, and skills with other enthusiasts.<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Advice on Repair and Upgrade: Reviving poorly Acorn machines.<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Socialize and Enjoy : There&#8217;s a kitchen for coffee, tea and biscuits. We&#8217;re in the town centre for bars, pubs and restaurants for potential afterwards gatherings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83d\udd0e <strong>June 2024 Hardware Focus : Interfacing with the outside world<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Acorn machines in the main were blessed with a <strong>staggering range of internal and external expansion options<\/strong> that made it <strong>the ultimate platform for interfacing<\/strong> with all sorts of devices!<\/p>\n<p>For this month&#8217;s session, let&#8217;s bring in and demonstrate some of the more popular (or weird and wonderful) devices you can connect to an Acorn machine, such as :-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Turtle Graphics Device<\/strong> &#8211; Used with LOGO to draw and create graphics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Infra-red Touch Screen<\/strong> &#8211; For direct interaction with the computer interface.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analogue 3D Joystick (The Bitstick)<\/strong> &#8211; For advanced gaming and 3D applications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Light Pens<\/strong> &#8211; For precise drawing and selecting on the screen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stylus Touch Pads<\/strong> &#8211; For graphic design and drawing tasks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) Devices<\/strong> &#8211; Used with synthesizer keyboards and other audio equipment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Robot Arm<\/strong> &#8211; For educational programming and robotics projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Philips LaserDisc Player<\/strong> &#8211; Connected via the BBC Domesday System for interactive video playback.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sound Samplers<\/strong> &#8211; Devices for recording and manipulating sound.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temperature Sensors<\/strong> &#8211; For scientific experiments and data logging purposes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Satellite Receiver<\/strong> &#8211; For receiving and processing satellite signals.
